The official launch of sports events in celebration of the Kigali city, 100 years anniversary.

-invited guest arrived at 2.30 pm, the band started at 3.00 pm, 110 teams were present doing different sports.
That is football both girls and boys. Children’s teams, disabled team, basketball, volleyball, women in karate and some  representatives of the run from each sector.
-After the parade, we had a welcome word from the V/C Mayor of Kigali city trying to encourage the youth that managed to participate in these celebrations of Kigali city.
-Culture dance followed and drama that was giving details of sports in this century.
There was a show of what type of balls they used to play made of banana fibers and slowly developing until now where we are using advanced balls and a NIKE ball was shown to the Audience.
-The mayor of the city gave the first kick in the field, hundreds of players had many balloons that were bust at once, people almost run away thinking they were bullets it was fun.
The start of women football was between the Holland team and King David senior secondary who joined together in one team as sign of co-operation and unity.
It was in way of curtain raiser for the professional teams that reached the final after the tournament which took place the previous week of eight teams.
This game took 20 minutes after which the final teams played.
These were : AKWOF F.C & MUSANZE F.C
The game ended 1-1 and went for penalties where AKWOF won with 4 and  Musanze 3.
-The  mayor of the city organized a special dinner in favour of the organizers ,AKWOS and the Dutch girls soccer team from Holland.
Culture dance closed the ceremony at 11.30 pm.
The day was  a success for us.
